Emily Barbee
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
I work collaboratively with clients and describe my style as warm, intellectual, creative, and empowering. I welcome and celebrate diversity in all forms.
Change is hard! When there is too much pain in life, we can feel overwhelmed, powerless, and stuck. Using evidence-based practices and a trauma-informed lens, I will work with you to build tools, examine your patterns and obstacles, and empower your strengths and inner wisdom so you can emerge with a greater sense of meaning and the ability to move in a new direction. I'm especially drawn to and skilled in working with people in transition, whether this relates to your developmental stage, relationship status, identity, school or career, or shifting life circumstances. I bring 12 years of experience as a clinical therapist and enjoy employing creative interventions beyond typical "talk therapy" including art, role play, writing, and apps. I offer referrals when appropriate and collaborate regularly with schools, psychiatrists, previous therapists, and other people relevant to meeting your goals.
