30 years in practice

I assess Central Auditory Processing Disorders and advise clients on environmental modifications, direct interventions, and compensating strategies.

I look forward to meeting you! I have specialized in the area of Central Auditory Processing for 20+ years in my part time private practice. CAP refers to how efficiently and how effectively the brain uses auditory information. CAPD impacts 2 - 5% of school aged children and can also negatively impact listening in adults. Only careful assessment of the auditory pathway by an audiologist trained in CAP evaluation methods leads to an accurate diagnosis of CAPD. Other providers such as speech language pathologists, educators, and psychologists might see behavioral "red flags" but they do not have the tools to properly evaluate for this condition.
