Claudine Lucena
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
I see individuals, couples, and families working on identity and relationships, life and family transitions, multicultural issues, and relational stress.
Much of my practice focuses on identity and relationships, life and family transitions, multicultural issues, and relational stress. I frequently work with clients from immigrant backgrounds, creatives and artists, LGBTQIA+ folks, and neurodivergent folks. My clinical work and research focus on systemic barriers to mental health care and resilience for historically excluded/marginalized populations. I collaborate with clients looking to heal interpersonal relationships, break out of harmful relational patterns, explore meaning and purpose, and process difficult transitions. My approach to therapy centers around exploring the client’s story, including how experiences of marginalization, and oppression impact mental health, relationships, and communities. I hope to offer a collaborative, affirming space where couples, individuals, and families may feel empowered to make changes in their lives and relationships. I practice through a social justice and decolonized lens, integrating into my clinical work an understanding of how power, privilege, and oppression shapes the lives of individuals, their families, and their community - as well as the mental health field.
