Tyler Benjamin
(They/Them/Theirs)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA)
A gentle presence and active listener who accompanies clients in suffering, helps them find hope, and offers them accountability when trying new things.
I see individual adults and couples with a range of therapeutic interests. Some are feeling confused, afraid, ashamed or curious about their gender or sexual identities. Others want to improve communication in relationships they rely on to get their needs met or that they turn to for deep meaning. Some clients are struggling after losing a beloved person, pet, home, or other significant place or relationship, including by suicide, accident, disaster or violence. Still others are laboring on the front lines for justice, autonomy, self-determination and collective liberation in the face of interlocking systemic oppressions and personal trauma. I help clients identify boundaries and act on their own values, especially LGBTQIA+ clients and folks in queer or non-monogamous relationships. I also help clients tell their most empowered post-traumatic-growth stories, and I help them continue old bonds in new ways after loss. I also help clients connect with empowering histories and affirming communities. You can grow resilience, access strength, build self-love, learn mindfulness and change skills, and embody joy, and I can help you understand and express all your emotions along the way.
