Shane Phillips
(He/Him/His)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
All are welcome in my practice! I take great care to get to know my patients & deeply understand who they are & what they want out of life.
Shane has experience providing clinical services to adolescents, adults, and families in a variety of treatment settings, including collegiate student services, academic medical centers, residential addiction treatment, and primary care. Additionally, he has worked in program administration, taught at the university level, and provided supervision to provisionally licensed counselors. Shane takes great care to get to know his patients and deeply understand who they are and what they want out of life. His work is rooted in third wave cognitive behavioral therapies and helping people develop tools for acceptance and change. Shane starts from the position that people can and do recover from substance use and mental health problems, and that doing so most often involves "the protective wall of human community" (Jung), changing one's fundamental relationship with one's symptoms, and reorganizing life around knowing and doing what matters most. In addition to the in-network insurances listed on my profile, we also accept: - Blue Cross UNC Health Alliance - Blue Cross My Blue with Duke We accept out of network (OON) benefits, and we file all insurance claims on patients' behalf.
