Maria (Mary) Puente

I work with women, men, and teens struggling with controlling big emotions and spiraling thoughts. I find it deeply rewarding to help clients dealing with anxiety, depression, and panic attacks due to life’s many stressors. I believe that healing happens when clients feel comfortable expressing their feelings, and I love to collaborate with clients to discover and use the strengths that are already inside of them. I use person-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy to assist my clients in coping more productively with their struggles. I provide a warm and nonjudgmental space for clients to feel safe and supported in the counseling process. Through working together, I hope you feel supported and empowered to take on life’s many challenges. Our practice, Neema Counseling, is a Christian counseling practice that was founded with a vision to help those who are hurting. “Neema” is the Swahili word for “grace”. It is our desire that all clients, regardless of their faith or background, experience the Neema Counseling office as a place filled with grace that leads to hope and healing.
