As an EMDR therapist, I work with adults who have experienced trauma, anxiety, or who are in the middle of a difficult life transition. Often my clients have experienced moments where something was ‘too much, too fast’, and ever since then things haven’t feel quite right. EMDR work focuses on alleviating the distress associated with trauma and adverse life experiences. This approach is based around how the brain stores and processes information related to traumatic events, moving memories from the part of our brain that thinks “This is still happening right now” to the part of our brain that thinks “That happened, and I am safe now.” Our first few sessions will be dedicated to getting to know each other, and developing a roadmap of how our work can get you where you want to go.
