Lisa Larson
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
I welcome clients of all identities and backgrounds and listen carefully to help them identify their most important goals for change.
I have worked as a therapist for 35 years in a variety of settings: community social service agencies, a hospital outpatient clinic, and in private practice for 20+ years. Talking therapy can be invaluable in helping one gain new perspectives on oneself . By helping clients see themselves in new, broader, more realistic and more accepting ways, I help them gain the emotional and psychological energy and understanding to make needed changes. I believe I am most helpful to people by listening carefully to what they are saying and by helping them put into words what seems hard to say or even to understand right now. I am very familiar with working with anxiety and depression (and especially as these affect academic and/or artistic performance). I work in a broadly exploratory way informed by psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and existential theories.
