Through my practice, East Meets West Counseling, I've been privileged to be allowed access to the most deeply held thoughts and beliefs of many who are suffering. I've been honored to bear witness to that suffering... and to the healing that ensues. I continue to accept new clients for in person and/or virtual and to look forward to accompanying all of them on their healing journeys. I first seek to help my clients learn to manage their stress (fight/flight) responses with coping strategies and self-care. I proceed to use a holistic, trauma informed, strengths-based approach to counseling which involves careful, caring listening and non-judgment to work towards achieving a more balanced and healthy life. Therapeutic orientations that I most strongly draw from include mindfulness based cognitive therapy and EMDR. I am well-versed in working with a wide variety of concerns including complex and severe trauma responses and alcohol and drug addictions as well as day to day concerns.
