Doug Aucoin
(He/Him/His)
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Come work with a therapist who is skillful, genuine and warm, who will help you explore the most difficult issues while also feeling safe and supported.
Feeling better matters so much and yet taking those first steps to make changes and moving towards recovery and growth are often not easy. You know that you want to move forward and make positive changes but are not sure where to start. It helps to have a mature and compassionate therapeutic partner with you on this journey. Having helped hundreds of clients in San Diego for the last 20 years, I’d like to take this journey with you. To utilize your in-network insurance benefits, follow this link and click the ‘request a consultation’ button: https://internal.helloalma.com/providers/doug-aucoin/. Clients come to therapy burdened with such things as anxiety/mood concerns, grief/loss issues, men’s issues, low self-esteem, LGBTQ+ issues, or challenges with life transitions. I have wide-ranging experience working with men's issues, including addressing concerns related to masculinity and gender roles, issues of identity, connecting with loved ones, and learning to express emotions in a healthy way, which as men we are often not taught to do. I’ve worked in community mental health, hospice, psychiatric hospitals, substance use and seniors’ programs. I utilize proven interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based, Strength-Based, Motivational Interviewing and more. My clients consistently tell me that they feel heard, understood, and relieved to have begun therapy. Let's create a plan together to lead you to change and growth.
