Awhona (Nina) Sanyal
(She/Her/Hers)
Counselor
Welcome! If you are seeking therapy, you are taking a brave decision toward a lifetime of change. I am honored to be a part of your journey!
My approach is rooted in compassion, empathy, and acceptance. Generally speaking, life is full of ups and downs. I truly believe that we are not meant to handle those challenges all by ourselves. It really does take a village and I hope to be a part of yours! As a first-generation woman of color, it is part of my mission to create therapeutic safe spaces for people of color and immigrants. For those of us who grew up in communities where talking about mental health was taboo, it can be especially challenging to open up. I hope to destigmatize mental health struggles and guide people of color to find their voice. I believe in using a holistic viewpoint to better understand my clients and their intersectional identities. Using a person-centered and strengths-based lens, I am passionate about guiding clients to live life on their own terms and challenge themselves to a lifetime of growth.
