Salema Coaxum, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC I am a board-certified psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner who enjoys serving her country and the people in it. I am a proud veteran of the US Army Nurse Corps. While serving on active duty I practiced as a psychiatric nurse for several years. I transitioned to the Army Reserves and obtained my doctoral degree as a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner. I am passionate about serving in the field of psychiatry and ensuring that everyone is treated with empathy, compassion, and respect. One of my primary objectives in mental health treatment is building trustworthy relationships that foster self-awareness and transparency. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings serving populations across the lifespan to include the severe and persistent mentally ill. I look forward to collaborating with you to meet your mental health goals.
