Roberta Cullen
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
I welcome clients of all ages, ethnicities, races, religions, gender identities, and relational preferences. Respect for every client is safeguarded.
I work with individuals and teens 16 and up, with issues involving trauma, attachment, and historical/cultural/ancestral trauma. Many symptoms such as anxiety, depression, procrastination, low self esteem, panic, compulsive behavior, and more, stem from attachment and/or trauma. My approach is gently somatic (working with mind-body wisdom) with optional use of art, movement, sand tray, mindfulness, and other support tools as needed. I am certified in IFS (Internal Family Systems) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). These are very effective evidence-based therapeutic methods with 30 years of success behind them. I view therapy as a collaborative process. The student is the expert on themselves and what they are facing., I am a supportive ally facilitating therapeutic change so clients can become the most of who they are. In addition to being a therapist, I have a PhD in the Liberal Arts and over 20 years as a college and university teacher, director, and department chair. I have mentored and counseled many college students, undergraduate and graduate, and have a thorough grasp of the collegiate environment, its demands, and the challenges faced by college students.
