I really appreciate working with students. I have many years of experience and positive outcomes. Creating a safe, respectful space is essential to heal.
I work with individuals 16 and up, with stress, anxiety, procrastination, depression, attachment and more. I'm well versed in treating big "T" and little "t" trauma, as well as historical, cultural and ancestral trauma. I also support people utilizing psychedelic therapy though preparation and post session integration of medicine sessions. I draw on multiple tools and techniques depending on people's unique needs and what they respond best to. I may draw on: mind-body wisdom, visual art, movement, sand tray, parts cards, role playing, mindfulness, or alternative methods depending on a person's interest and system needs. I am certified in IFS (Internal Family Systems or "parts" work) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). These are very effective evidence-based therapeutic methods with 30 plus years of success behind them. I also draw on Narrative, Emotion Focused, TFT (Thought Field Therapy), Mindful Self Compassion, Expressive Arts therapies and other healing modalities. My process is to meet people where they are. I view therapy as a collaborative process. People bring important experiences and knowledge with them to support an enriching process of change. People are experts on their own systems, even if they don't realize it or can't access that knowledge under stress. In addition to being a therapist, I have extensive experience as a teacher, director, creator, and researcher in performing arts, much of that in college and university settings. I have a "real world" understanding of the demands placed on students by the academic environment. This fuels my passion to help students be successful in their goals.
