(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
Counseling in my perspective is just that: holding space for whatever arises and being in the mud with you as you decide which way you want us to go.
Hey there, welcome! I’m Olivia T. Ngadjui (she/her/hers), PhD, NCC, LPC, owner and sole counselor of Olivia T. Ngadjui, PhD, LPC, LLC. If you’re here, you’re either ready to begin or continue your counseling journey and that’s a big deal! We live in a society where the stigma against mental health can be so high and many of us walk around carrying baggage on our own. You’re taking a step that potentially not many around you are ready to take on. I work from a strengths based and theoretical integrative perspective that has evolved as I have grown that uses Adlerian, Cognitive Behavioral, Interpersonal Processing and Relational Cultural counseling elements. I also recently received training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) as a tool for those in awareness of being impacted by trauma. I’m pretty flexible in knowing that what works for one in counseling may not work for another because for me: there is beauty in difference. I’m gentle but firm while pretty understanding in knowing that I don’t get to see your whole world, so I’m okay with putting it out there that I could be wrong. I pay a lot of attention to our power deferential, so I disagree with being able to tell you about your life. I also bring attention to areas that you may not consider and bring in creativity along with humor when possible and appropriate.
