Kim Beekman-Dew

Kim Dew is a licensed professional therapist who has been in practice for more than 25 years working with adults, adolescents, children and families. She has worked in numerous settings including inpatient and outpatient treatment and has extensive experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety and family/relationship problems. She has a particular interest in trauma and stress related issues and, as a (retired) military family member, has received specialized training in working with concerns unique to military families or deployment. She also has experience and specialized training in domestic violence/abuse issues and disaster and crime-related trauma treatment. Kim uses a primarily cognitive-behavioral approach in therapy, but integrates other techniques as appropriate with individual clients. The goal is always to help the client define the issues that are causing difficulties in their lives and to build new skills that will help them resolve them and build strength in their integrity.
