Kathryn (Katy) Gorski
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I utilize person-centered approaches to engage individuals authentically in order to address their unique needs.
I believe building a therapeutic relationship that promotes collaboration, respect, and trust will facilitate change through processing and exploring personal experiences to gain insight and self-awareness. I utilize therapeutic techniques to support individuals struggling to cope with life experiences by exploring alternative perspectives to help them learn adaptive coping strategies that enable them to be the best version of themselves. I have extensive clinical experience working with young people and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, psychosis, mood disorders, and trauma related disorders. I specialize in helping young people navigate life transitions, focusing on identity development and empowerment to foster resiliency. My eclectic theoretical orientation is based in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to understand how our thoughts impact our feelings and behaviors, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to learn skills to promote emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
