Hashina (Sina) Akther
(She/Her/Hers)
Counselor, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
I welcome all clients who want to explore themselves and help them feel in control again!
Change is uncomfortable; not feeling in control is the worst... It is not easy adapting to change that is out of your control. As the world is changing, it may feel like we don't have a grasp of our lives. Spending time with ourselves, we might learn more about what we like, and often times - what we don't like. I've been there, and I want to be there for you through this time. Sometimes, all we need is a person to hear us without judgment, and provide us with insight and the truth to our concerns. I am happy to provide that with you. My specialties include working with eating disorders (including ARFID), anxiety, mood disorders (such as bipolar and depression), adjustment and life transition concerns, and exploring effective short- and long-term coping skills. My therapy styles include a mix of cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy, as well as motivational interviewing. We often hit roadblocks in our pathways of life and asking for help is not easy to do. I believe there is no shame, judgment, or “I should be able to do this myself.” Your path is led by you, and with seeking help – I am happy joining alongside you in your journey, wherever it may take us.
