I have a deep admiration for the strength of the human spirit and people’s ability to grow through the most difficult circumstances. I see therapy as an opportunity to join with another as they face difficulties and navigate change. I bring kindness, compassion, and humor into the therapy room as we work together to understand what brought you to therapy, work on untangling your thoughts and feelings, and make a plan for changing behaviors that keep you feeling stuck. I consider it an honor to help people through their struggles and pain. My ideal client is someone who is struggling to figure out their life, growing older and trying to understand their past, put it in context, and move forward to be successful in the future. I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental, safe space to come and process the thoughts and feelings we all have, that we're all trying to figure out. I am a very relational person who likes to help other "hash it out." I utilize a strengths based approach, helping clients move away from guilt, shame, and blame to build a sense of self worth and confidence moving forward toward change. I am big on shame resilience -- being vulnerable with others, building a support network which includes but isn't limited to friends, family, 12-step and other community support.
