Angelica Schneider
(She/Her/Hers)
Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
I excel in working with teens and adults who experience struggles with their gender/sexuality, intimate partner violence, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
I graduated from Wayne State University for both my BA in Psychology and my Master in Social Work degree and have been practicing since 2019. I believe the single most important factor in a therapeutic relationship is just that, the relationship. A client will not be able to engage, become vulnerable, and see positive changes within their life if they do not build trust and rapport with their therapist. It is my ethical responsibility to form a foundation by validating clients, providing knowledge, helping clients to process stressors and trauma, and empowering them to define their own goals and work toward them. I primarily work within a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) framework, but will incorporate trauma-informed care, empowerment, solution-focused, person-centered, and family systems interventions as necessary to help each client reframe the way they see themselves, others, and their current stressors to best achieve their desired outcomes. Clients have described me as approachable, empathetic, funny, relatable, patient, and enthusiastic about my work. Therapy is about and for YOU, so we won’t be watering down the trauma, oppression, or struggles that exist just to make things comfortable. Let’s work together to achieve that best version of yourself!
