Alejandro Martinez
(He/Him/His)
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
I strive to create a warm, inclusive, welcoming environment to allow clients to express themselves openly and honestly without judgment.
My clinical background and training includes working with individuals of Latin American descent, undocumented immigrants and refugees, undergraduate and graduate students, multicultural counseling, sex therapy, and the LGBTQ+ community. Therapy can be a scary thought, but it is a space for you to find yourself again and experience life. I am aware of the stigma of seeking mental health support, and I know taking the first step to come to therapy can be difficult. We walk through the world holding many different experiences that make us unique: race, gender, sexual orientation, and more. I help my clients allow themselves permission to feel their feelings and walk forward. It is easy to get stuck in the stressors of growing up bilingual and/or bicultural. I believe therapy deserves a person-centered approach. I like to incorporate a range of evidence-based techniques to best meet your individual needs with the understanding that you are more than your symptoms and live a full life. I understand that at the intersections of our identities, we can find power, growth, and personal resilience to continue the compassionate work and love our communities are founded on.
